TOPSPEED APPOINTS FRANK WATTS VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES
Pompano Beach, Florida, February 9, 1999 -- TopSpeed® Corporation today announced that Frank T. Watts has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. A leading supplier of rapid application development and deployment tools for Web and multi-tier platforms, TopSpeed brought the software sales veteran on board to lead the charge in U.S. and global markets for the company's Clarion software product line.
"Frank Watts brings a wealth of experience in developing and implementing global sales strategies to his position as leader of TopSpeed's software sales team," says Chief Executive Officer, Roy Rafalco. "For 25 years, he's set new records for top technology products in the software industry. We're very pleased that he'll be directing TopSpeed's sales programs."
Watts becomes the newest member of TopSpeed executive management as the company prepares to launch the Clarion 5 product line, the newest edition to the Clarion family of software products. "I can't think of a better time to come on board than now, with the upcoming release of the Clarion 5 products," Watts says. "The buzz about the news is that Clarion technology is very good. It's tremendously exciting to become a part of this company at the beginning of an aggressive growth period."
Prior to joining TopSpeed, Watts was Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Logic Works, Inc. He implemented a proactive sales model that returned the firm to profitability and created new channel programs in the U.S., Asia, and South America.
Watts has also served as a sales and sales management consultant and developed reseller sales programs for clients such as Sun Microsystems, Apple, MAI Basic Four, Honeywell, and Microage. For six years, he wrote a "sales tools" column for VAR Business Magazine. Earlier stints with industry leaders such as MAI Basic Four, SHL Systemhouse, and Wang Laboratories, Inc. round out his impressive sales career. Watts holds degrees from the University of Buffalo and Syracuse University.
